Recovery from a minimally invasive breast reduction is similar to recovery from liposuction. You will experience swelling, occasional bruising, but will otherwise be able to return to normal activities fairly quickly with a supportive bra in place.
Historically, breast reduction surgery has involved large incisions around the nipple-areola and under the natural curve of the breast, with permanent, visible scarring. However, in select patients, a minimally invasive technique can achieve comparable results. This “closed” technique (using liposuction) may be an option for those with breasts that aren’t too large or pendulous, those comprised of more fatty tissue than breast tissue, and with good skin elasticity. Furthermore, Smartlipo can be added to further tighten the skin and possibly achieve more lift than using liposuction alone.
