Recovery is similar to a minimally invasive breast reduction, with transient swelling, occasional bruising, and minimal to moderate discomfort with a quick return to normal activities.
Men with unnaturally large breasts often seek plastic surgery as a last resort. The surgical solution depends on the severity of the enlargement. Historically, correction ranged from a combination of traditional liposuction to a complete removal of the breasts, or mastectomy. More recently, laser-based liposuction, or SmartLipo™, can be added to optimize skin shrinkage in addition to fat removal.
